Joseph L. Mitchell is a resident of Berks County and a researcher who found time to put pen to paper after retiring from a career as an engineer. He is a three-time winner of the annual Hiester Manuscript Competition sponsored by the Berks History Center. Joe also served as vice president of the Oley Valley Heritage Association.
